I'm making a painting for a friend because that's what she wanted me to give her for her birthday. Problem being that I'm not an artist, haha. She told me she doesn't care I could just splatter paint and that gave me this idea. I bought a canvas and in white letters/black background I put a saying and I want to splatter colorful paint on it... I know this sounds stupid, but I don't want to mess this up, how do I splatter paint? Do I just get a lot on my paintbrush and sling it? Or...?

Haha yeahhh pretty much that's what you do!

Just bring it outside or someplace that your not afraid to get paint everywhere and go at it! Just sling it! It's really fun if you get into it and will look amazing. (:

What I did... is:

Get an old toothbrush, that you arent going to use again for brushing your teeth.

Put some paint on it, not too much

Rub the bristles with your finger, aiming at the canvas

Hopefully it will splatter on the canvas.

Wash the brush and do another colour

Thats how I did it, when I was in year 6, we made some mssy art, and I made mine like that and it turned out pretty cool.

Hope this helps

If you are using acrylic paint, I would suggest getting bottles of paint and just squirt the paint on the canvas. Then use a spray bottle to get a really cool dripping effect. The more you spray the lighter the colors become.
