Is Acrylic Paint fine for face painting? What would you suggest?

Yeah, I'm going to camp this summer and on Friday we have these games, and my team wanted to be very 'spirity' and paint their faces. But, all I can find around is the acrylic paint at the store, but people say that's bad. Is it bad? And do you know any good face paint that's not expensive or hard to find? Thanks.

the people who told you it is bad, to use regular acrylic paint are right it is bad. The paint they use is a special paint and will not harm the skin.

I concur with the rest of the respondents. DO NOT USE ACRYLICS. DON'T EVEN USE TEMPERA PAINTS...

Go to an arts & crafts or Party store for FACE PAINT.

You will likely find creme paints in tubes which are very inexpensive and can be applied with fingers, brushes or sponges. You may also find Snazaroo kits there.(dry cakes) Best for beginners/novices, they are easy to use and not very expensive. just add water! (www.snazaroo.us/)

Only Body or Face Painting paint is made safe for that purpose. It may be available in art/crafts stores, and is definitely available online. You might want to check out the "World Body Piainting Festival" in Seeboden, Germany. It will give you some great inspiration.

Yes, that is bad. Acrylic paint will stick indefinately to skin, must wear off. You could use tempera, water color, and there is actually a face paint. Look in an art supply store.



Whatever paint you use must be able to be washed off after it dries, and sould not be harmful to the person you are painting on.

ARE YOU CRAZY?!?! please do not put acrylics on your face. It's basically plastic in a bottle. Think nail polish on your lips! Get real face paint at shoppers or party packagers!! please don't put acrylic on ur face!
