How do I open brushes and textures in paint tool sai (PLEASE HELP!)?

okay so i went and downloaded a brush and texture pack for paint tool sai, now i dont know how to open it! please help who ever helps gets points just please i need to know asap thank you :D -

If it's a ZIP folder, or a RAR file, you can open it with http://www.win-rar.com/download.html?&L=0





After you open it, locate the folder that has the PaintTool SAI.exe and its own folders in it.



Move the files from the brush and texture pack into the PaintTool SAI folders. (EX: brushtex files go into SAI's brushtex folder, elemap goes into elemap, papertex goes into papertex, ect!)



If you downloaded the brush and texture pack from DeviantART, make sure to read the description! It'll give any details you need, most of the time, including a how-to-install guide. (I hate it when people don't read the descriptions I write! XD)

You can use winrar to decompress zip files and a bunch of other formats. Other good programs are 7zip and winzip but in my opinion winrar is the best one. Fuctionalities are pretty similar for all programs: basically you can decompress a file simply by right-clicking it and by choosing the destination folder.



Winrar is available for free under a trial licence. The good thing is the trial period never ends so you can use it for free with no limitations.



Winrar opens all formats like .zip, .rar, .7z, .iso, .tar, .jar etc. That's why I recommend it.
