"However, we often get asked to purchase paintings for collectors of art by Leighton-Jones, in this event we ask you to send a good quality digital photo of your painting (and a close-up of the signature) to :

art4art@yahoo.com

Also describe the medium on which it is painted plus if you know where and when it was purchased, and we will do our best to guide you or give some idea of the value of your painting. "

I have an old painting, I believe it is an oil painting but it isnt on canvas. I believe its on more like a solid compressed cardboard. It is a painting of a wheat field and the sun set with some ducks or birds flying away in it. It is signed in the lower left hand corner C. Jones. Can anyone please give me any information on this, thank you so much for the help.

First of all, it's "Barry" Leighton Jones. Secondly, a brief google search gave me PAGES of stuff, so I don't know where you were searching on the web if you can't find anything.

you need to have it professionally appraised, by a reputable person. They will take all things into consideration, not just the painting itself, like the condition, and the venue at which you choose to sell it at. they would also tell you if you do not plan to sell it what type and how much insurance you need to have on it.
