How did Andy Warhol do it?

For my final project in art I'd like to do a picture in the style of Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe stuff. I've searched and searched but all the tutorials I've found are photoshop related. My class isn't a computer art class so I wouldn't be allowed to do that. I know it's called "silk screening", "serigraph", "screen printing", and god knows what else, but I cannot for the life of me find a tutorial for it. Videos and pictures would be appreciated.

It's an involved process and the color separations can be tricky without the use of a computer.

Um. if you want to do a picture using screenprinting, I'm afraid I have to tell you that it's a really complex (though simple) process. I mean, it's not something you can do at home, but there are many factories where it can still be done. But I don't know exactly how it works, although I've already seen Warhol doing it a couple of times..

But nowadays you can easily end up with the same effects using any free software by inverting the colors ;)
