How do I make a dead grass color for an autumn painting?

Add a little red in with your grass colours to lift the monotony of yellowish browns.

Just looking out my window I see 3 or 4 different dead grass colors. Don't know what you want or which medium you are using. I work in watercolor and would probably mix some indian yellow with diff browns... might start with sepia. or raw umber.

mix 70% gold or light beige, with 30% brown. that will get you the color of dead bluegrass.
