Get some desiccant gel packages from a container store, or anyplace that sells moving supplies. Toss a couple in with the stored paintings. This will help keep the moisture levels down.

But the other answers are right. Under the right conditions, mold can grow on just about any surface.

Mold does not discriminate in what surfaces it will grow on. It is just as likely to grow on expensive paintings as it is cheap rags when the conditions are right. Moisture and darkness are the two most important elements in promoting mold growth. Older paintings often come down with mold when stored for a time in high humidity. Remove mold carefully to avoid damaging the painting itself. Fortunately, acrylic paints are often more durable, and you can remove mold from acrylic paintings gently.

Acrylic paint has probably the most durability of any paint available in the market. It might probably grasp in the solar and won't fade the way a watercolor will, or an oil portray after long durations of time uncovered to the sunshine. It's used outdoors on murals. Which you could smooth it with damp cloth or simply dust it. I've been promoting acrylic art work for 30 years + and might inform you they final forever.

The paint it self will not mold, acrylic paint is kind of like plastic. But if where you have it is very wet or humid the canvas could potentially mold.
