ART! What the names of famous painters/artists that used grids?

Some guy wants to argue that grids were not used by great master artists like Da Vinci and others. who were the other greats that used or use grids? Please name them all so I can put this in his face!

Many artists used grids, mostly to transfer to a larger area.

Actually Da vinci DID use grids. Specially his murals were all hung on grids. How else would he make a big piece like that without messing up the composition and perspective.
What I think he means is that a great artist will not use a grid to get details right. And that would be true. They will however use grids to get a composition right an a 'bigger' piece. Any artist that doesn't is a fool or doesn't care about those details.

Grids were the method used to teach young artists to draw accurately. They all used them. Many also used the camera obscura, a dark room with a small hole in one wall. The subject was put on the other side of the hole and its or their image would be projected onto the opposite wall of said room, only upside down. It was traced, just like an opaque projector is used now.
