Grease face paint works very well. Eyeshadow will not stay for very long and is a little bit drying. Grease face paints are what actors normally use for white face, and can be found in most seasonal costume shops, if so set it with a light sprinkle of baby powder. It washes off quite easily with cold cream, and will provide a lasting cover. Or if it suits you better, simply purchase a cheap porcelain skin tone foundation and apply over a very light moisturizer.

I'd check carefully to see what's in it. However, ages ago when I made my little sister and her friend up as vampires, I spread Noxema over their faces and then powdered over it with talcum powder. It worked very well, and they didn't have any bad after-effects..
