You get the best blacks from mixing, They are vibrant and alive compared with what you get out of a tube. Black is made from mixing equal parts of the 3 basic colors--blue. yellow and red.
You can also accomplish it by mixing colors that have proportions of the basic colors in them-
Ultamarine blue and burnt umber
Sap green and Alizarin Crimson with a touch of blue
Experiment with the colors you have that will give you a mixture of the basic colors. Mix a tiny bit and add white to a small portion of what you get and see if it's black enough for you or maybe you want a blue black or a red black.

You won't get a true black from mixing colors..Your best bet is to buy black acrylic paint. If you just want a really dark color..try mixing dark purple with green

I second that I have mixed black acrylics and just about everything else on earth into gesso as a primer layer, the oldest one is about 8 years old now so I cant really say whether it effects permanence yet, but it does not seem as if it does, My incredible anal, and amazing 70 year old painting instructor never busted my *** about it either. You will lose some of that tooth, and it really will be grey, so black gesso is a better method.

NEVER use black on a painting. It 'flattens' the painting.
You will obtain a warm /cool dark colour by mixing Burnt Umber and Prussian Blue, in varying proportions.
