Can you die if you ingest acrylic paint?

I'm an artist and i work with alot of paint. i'm just curious, because anything could happen. and im told there really not toxic..

Gallons of most anything will kill you. How would you ingest it if you have half a brain? You paint with it -you don't brush your teeth with it. You don't put it on your hamburgers. You would keep all art supplies up away from small children. It is virtually harmless if used as directed. Remember a loaded gun can kill you if you point it at your head and pull the trigger! Get some help from a doctor before eating any paint or material not considered food by the rest of the sane world.



This is NOT the "anything can happen" scenario. Paint will not just get into your mouth unless you stupidly put it there..

Why would you ingest acrylic paint unless you purposely did it? What a crazy question. If you have to ask because "anything can happen" then luvvy, I suggest you give up painting. I'd love to know what kind of "anything" could happen, tho'.

Acrylics are water-based, so are non-toxic, but the cadmium pigments contain toxic heavy metals.



I am an artist too, and I know of many artists who got ill from their materials, especially with printmaking and mold-making supplies. Get in the good habit of keeping your studio separate from your living space; make sure chemicals like turps don't seep into your skin; and only eat after you've thoroughly scrubbed down.
