Well, there are plenty to choose from. One interesting comparison might be between Artemisia Gentileschi's "Self Portrait as the Allegory of Painting" (the first painting on the first site below) and Vermeer's "The Art of Painting." One is a fairly early Italian Baroque work, the other is a later 17th-century Northern Baroque (Dutch) piece. You'll need to read up on Gentileschi and Vermeer both. Think about the different styles and settings, the use of light, in particular, and the way the artists are presenting the concept of working on art.
Another possibility would be to compare a Rembrandt with, say, a Caravaggio. Or a Caravaggio with a Vermeer or a Hals or a Steen. How about Caravaggio's "Amor Triumphant," which has a musical theme, with one of Hals' celebrating or musical figures at the foot of the fourth site? Again, you'll need to read about both Caravaggio and Hals and make sure you are familiar with the Italian and the Dutch Baroque.
