Are Royal Langnickel brushes good?

They are not my personal favorite. For the same price I prefer winsor.

They are not the best but are generally serviceable. It is important that you get synthetic hair brushes. They will have a light brown, golden color. If you are using brushes with bristles, they are not appropriate for watercolor. If your brushes have dark brown hair, they are cheaply made and probably pony, camel or some other animal hair and that's why you are loosing hair.

You would be best off to get individual brushes rather than a "set". You need a #3 script or liner, #s 4, 6, & 12 round, and 3/4 inch flat short handle brushes.
