I ran out of linseed oil so I decided to use some olive oil. I read that it isn't a good thing to do because it wont harden but the problem is, I already did the painting. Will it ever dry? All I painted was some black letters on a name board. I just want it to dry because I put a lot of time into the letters!

Leave it alone and see what happens. Then report back to us; we all want to know how that worked for you.

Personally, I don't use anything but turps to thin my paint. There is already linseed oil in the paint and I find adding more will dilute the intensity of the colors. Turps won't do that.

No- you need a hard-drying oil.
