Can any other material other than canvas be used for oil painting?

I have a lot of spare clothing material that could be spread over a wooden frame.I am wondering if other use cloth materials instead of canvas.

I've painted on many different fabrics and glass, usually acrylic. I think almost any fabric could be used, as long as it's heavy enough and doesn't have too much stretch to it. heavier cottons or blends work fine - different weights of fabric will have different looks. Have fun, experiment with anything and everything, you never know what you'll create.
