Yes, that is in the Dutch Baroque style.

And it's one of my favourite paintings. When one enters my apartment, they see a large tapestry of that painting (naturally it's enlarged), a book about Vermeer with that painting on the cover (which is actually about the same size as the original), and I even have a CD of Baroque music which uses that painting as the cover art.

Although you don't ask, can I tell you what I think about it? (I guess you have no choice hehe). But anyways, it has been interpreted a couple different ways. Some think it is a painting of a Dutch prostitute based on her sensuous full lips. I totally disagree with that. For one thing, her clothing is NOT traditional Dutch clothing as seen in all the other Vermeer paintings. OK. Here's what I think it is: I think it's a representation of the Annunciation (when Gabriel came to Mary to tell her that she is going to be the mother of Jesus). The turban she's wearing is definitely not Dutch - that's Middle Eastern garb. The pearl earring is a symbol of purity.
